My life’s goal is to do a real triathlon: either an Olympic or an Ironman. Those are long, so right now, I am trying to kick butt on a sprint triathlon, the 7th Annual PossAbilities Sprint Triathlon. I hope to kick major appendages. We’ll see how it all works out.
You may notice that there are no posts for Friday’s workouts: that is because the training program I am using has Friday as an off day, and only running on ay given Saturday. I am doing my pool training at the Drayson Center, which closes early on Fridays, and is closed on Saturdays (SDA), this works out really well for me.
This is my training gear:
Running – I wear a pair of Asics that are closest to these, but the colors are darker (black and blue), and I really don’t wear anything special to run in.
Biking – I ride a Specialized Allez Elite in Quick Step that I bought last April; I haven’t cleaned it yet, so it is beginning to shift funny, but I always lube the chain. Eh…I wear a Specialized jersey, and I need new bike shorts. I bought the Canondale baggies because I wasn’t real keen on the little shorts, but I think I would be a bit faster with them on. It’s all about speed. By the way, I bought a cheap pair of sunglasses at Sport Chalet, and have used them a lot. They protect the eyes and keep the wind out a little bit. I highly recommend wearing glasses of some type. I have seen people wear clear ones as well, and wondered why until I had a small pebble zinged into my face.
Swimming – not much, literally. Just goggles and jammers. I have pictures if you would like to see, but that is on my pay site. J/K. No, but seriously.
So, if anyone is interested in training or has some good tips to share, please let me know. I am figuring this out all on my own, but with some good advice.
